SEED beauty combines 60 years of cosmetic industry expertise with a new world approach to speed and distribution. Under one roof we provide venture capital, brand incubation, product development, manufacturing and fulfillment. The only place in the world that can go from concept to consumer in 5 days. Some of our brands, ColourPop and Kylie Cosmetics, are changing the face of the cosmetics industry. Nate is deeply focused on blurring the lines between personalization, CRM, and acquisition commerce to make sure that customers have a shopping experience that is based around them and their preferences in multiple channels.

Courtney Symons

Lead Writer, Office of the CEO, Shopify

Courtney is the Lead Writer for Shopify’s CEO Tobi Lütke. Before joining the CEO’s team, Courtney launched the Shopify Web Design & Development Blog and built an Ottawa-based marketing team. She’s been with Shopify since 2013 and has watched the company evolve and grow exponentially. In a previous life, she was a journalist covering technology and business news. An avid reader, Courtney lives in a log cabin big enough to house all of her books.

After working at Shopify for a number of years, Doug has recently transitioned back into retail as the Director of Marketing at Noelle Floyd - a leading equestrian publication. While at Shopify, Doug helped Movember quadruple their conversion rate, he helped the Kardashians launch 6 brands and assisted in the launch of Radiohead's latest album - A Moon Shaped Pool

Tiffany Tse

Developer Advocacy Lead on the Partnerships Education Team, Shopify

Tiffany Tse is a Developer Advocacy Lead at Shopify on the Partnerships Education Team, based in Toronto, Canada. In the joint York University/Sheridan College Design Program Tiffany also works as a Professor teaching interaction design and development. Tiffany specializes in front end development, theming, user experience design, and accessibility.

She is passionate about teaching designers and developers and has previously worked as a chapter co-lead for Ladies Learning Code in Ottawa, as well as a Professor at Algonquin College. Tiffany lived in Ottawa for 10 years, and therefore has a huge appreciation for speaking, teaching and travelling to cities with warm temperatures.

Stephen Smyth

Launch Manager, Shopify Plus

Stephen is a Launch Manager for Shopify Plus. Running his own business he knows what it means to be an entrepreneur and can share his learning / empathy with new Plus merchants.

His role as a Launch Manager is to educate merchants, share best practices, facilitate store set-up, and provide training on using the Shopify platform.  As a technical point of contact and project manager helping bring over 120 Plus Merchants onto the Shopify Plus platform Stephen loves coordinating all the components required for a successful site launch.

When not in launch mode, Stephen can be found walking his dogs, tending to his microgreens or volunteering with city of Richmond's emergency communications team.

Laura Andersen

Growth Manager for Affiliates, Shopify

Laura is the Growth Manager for Affiliates at Shopify. In partnership with content creators and digital marketers, her work focuses on empowering entrepreneurs to launch their journey in commerce. Laura’s had her share of side hustles, including a new lifestyle brand called FOLK; created to inspire global consciousness. Formerly, she taught digital marketing students at a Vancouver tech school, worked in partnerships at Lululemon, and Hootsuite. Her career goal is to work on campaigns with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Melinda Gates to inspire ‘womenpreneurship’. Follow her adventures at @lauramandersen.

Anthony Hillairet

Technology Lead, Satel Creative

Anthony Hillairet is Technology Lead and Head Data Engineer at Satel Creative. A former particle physicist and recipient of the prestigious Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics, Anthony brings a formidable knowledge of data processing to the world of ecommerce. In his role at Satel, Anthony handles data integrations as well as communications with enterprise-level clients. He sees parallels between the worlds of physics and ecommerce  to be successful in either field requires deep expertise in handling large data sets. When he's not working with numbers or clients, Anthony enjoys cooking and competing in Toastmasters events.

Dan Conway

Sr. Director of D2C, Fame House

Dan Conway is the Sr. Director of D2C at Philadelphia-based agency Fame House. With roots in the music industry, Fame House works with artists, labels, events, and brands to implement digital marketing and merchandising strategy to drive fan acquisition, engagement, and sales. Dan oversees all aspects of the agency's D2C e-commerce business, managing a network of over 300 shops including Eminem, Lady Gaga, The Beatles, and 2Pac. Outside of work, Dan loves hiking, travelling, and exploring Philly's restaurant scene.

Brittany Skolovy

Senior Digital Product Manager at Aritzia

Britt is a Senior Digital Product Manager at Aritzia. Aritzia is a rapidly growing, innovative design house and fashion retailer of exclusive brands. Her role includes driving forward the portfolio of eCommerce initiatives and building out the Product Management function.  Prior to her most recent position, Britt partnered with designers and developers to develop digital content. 
Her background in diverse roles across Process Improvement, eCommerce, and Digital Marketing has embedded an appreciation for the overall customer journey. She is passionate about agile transformation as a conduit for collaboration and growth. When not deep in data or a team huddle, Britt can likely be found behind the lens of her Fuji or researching her next travel destination.
